Take On My First Stint As Software Employee And Cricket World Cup 2015

There are things which need to be written upfront to share with you all. My life took some turns and I landed in another country. There is a change with regard to the topic which is being written in this space for some time as I am relocated to new setting for good. The temporary halt in the daily routine of a software employee is like a part of the larger picture. Everything seems gloomy sometimes and there is no last day email during my term as wage earner. Here it goes, which is due for some time.                           I started my career in the stream of software testing 5 years back and it tested me hard. If not the nature of the work, the most challenging part is the people with whom I need to deal with and get their acceptance. I always felt like the managers are from Mars and leads are from Pluto. You need to be one if y...

Post Bifurcation and Ahead

After living through the division of the state for the past few months, here are the further 2 cents on the prevailing situation and that of the future. Contrary to the anticipation, there is little visible resistance to the outcome of a dubious decision. Whatever resistance in the form of waning agitations and resignations, failed to result in anything larger as people acceded to the forced ruling with pent-up hatred and simmering anger for those behind the move. Their voice is never taken into account at any stage of the bifurcation which resulted in the thorough rout of the ruling party in the recent elections. Significant to observe is the party did not get the support of the state it created. A referendum held in United Kingdom last month is a good way of going about in such cases to put the issue to rest. The only difference being the account of entire state should be considered due to the location of capital and other atta...

Take on the Present State and Election Re-visit

Since not long ago, the main discussion in this area came to a halt by successfully passing the bill for the state re-organization in both houses of parliament and marching further towards fulfilling the dreams of many. Though there are a lot of questions arised in the process adopted all along, the outcome will open up several growth avenues which are otherwise a tad too difficult to realize in the current context. Firstly, this aids in the decentralization of the governance and the opportunities that follow towards building a self-sufficient state. Secondly, a lot of provisions were declared for the state. These need to happen as it is the only viable justification for the separation and to soothe the subdued anger in those for united cause. This again leads up to a common practising belief – Give up something to get something(else). After giving up unity, the state seems to be poised for some success in the ...

Take On The Cause For United State

Despite the ongoing agitation from July 30 against the decision to bifurcate the state, the ruling party had further pressed to go ahead by passing the bill framed by group of ministers. This got the approval of the central ministers and the President to hang it in the State assembly for comment. From a fair judge point of view, the entire episode seemed to be a case which was handled ineptly and how not to arrive at conclusions by only looking from the top. For all the reasons of little value, one cannot arrive at irreversible act of building boundaries when the outcome affects the future and the psyche of crores on land. These decisions to bifurcate coming from the leaders in high positions should have gained wider acceptance if they are people-centric or process-centric and not person-centric, power-centric or period-centric.              In the long winding process leadi...

Take on the struggle for statehood

The subject has been on the forefront of the happenings constantly for most of the recent past. Since the Telangana state is declared, there are few view points which can be put around the same. These should in any way neither dampen the spirit nor aimed against the struggle of the vast majority but only to be considered as a form of expression.                                    There has been support from most of the people of the state for and against the formation of a new state. While there is an intense agitation, being almost regular, in the demand for a separate state since few years; there are more in number who opposed without a voice, expressing  their dissent at these demands. The new state of 9 districts if carved out will carry present capital Hyderabad along with few issues at which the the remaining 13 districts h...

Pastime Musings - 2

Image
If everything pans out as scheduled, this would be my last week in this campus. It also marks the end of metamorphosis from student to worker. I had been a student for the last 19 years in a kind of educational framework which pressed hard the seekers of it for marks, marks and marks. Success stories were weaved around these numbers and egos, envies were generated by these marks. These marks hugged the student who read, retain and reproduce well (barring the entrance tests when the questions were twisted). Though there is no alternative for this indicator to differentiate, does it mould the learners the way they had to learn? Can the winners of this type of learning be called as those fully stuffed with 'meaningful' education? If not all, are the toppers at least contributing to the progress of arts or science they learned from these temples of e...

Pastime Musings

After the initial hiccups, the sailing in the training became relatively smooth and may it stay as such till the end. Thanks to the strong dollar, the computing industry has generated lot of wealth and employment. This has ushered in a certain degree of financial independence – which was hitherto enjoyed by a elite few – to those with second tier of brains.         My complains of the peripheral hardships here would have been unmatched with the real struggles had I graduated a decade or two earlier. There is a lyric of a Telugu song sapatu etu ledu ..(which translates to ‘we have no work, atleast sing a song brother’) from movie Aakali Rajyam (translates to Hunger Kingdom) of that period which captures the turmoil and disgust, the previous generation has gone through after passing out of student life. Considering the previous state of affairs and with an income which is a high multiple of percapita in...
