Take On My First Stint As Software Employee And Cricket World Cup 2015

There are things which need to be written upfront to share with you all. My life took some turns and I landed in another country. There is a change with regard to the topic which is being written in this space for some time as I am relocated to new setting for good. The temporary halt in the daily routine of a software employee is like a part of the larger picture. Everything seems gloomy sometimes and there is no last day email during my term as wage earner. Here it goes, which is due for some time.

I started my career in the stream of software testing 5 years back and it tested me hard. If not the nature of the work, the most challenging part is the people with whom I need to deal with and get their acceptance. I always felt like the managers are from Mars and leads are from Pluto. You need to be one if you want to experience it firsthand. Not that they are any different but their work seem to be out of the world. I lived with my usual awe around them. An elderly person shared that 10 years of career in software industry is equivalent to 30 years of banking career. This tells about the high performance on demand for everyone to please the project stakeholders. Through these 15 years of mine, there are a numerous discussions on a daily  basis with my fellow colleagues, trainings, meetings, team lunches, resort treats, cake-cuttings etc which gave me a high throughout my tenure. Be the zombie paintings, cake smears, attempts to communicate at toastmasters, onsite calls, volunteer team meets, teachings in school and in many moments of value, the commitment was unlimited and the aura undiminished. I also cherished to be in place of many organisational activities and the mailers regarding these which were of support to me during my time. The volume of talent and the opportunity to live with them will be remembered for long. I thank the Toastmasters clubs for listening to me and providing an avenue to speak well. Though this is yet to be reached, I hope the struggle will continue. I would also like to thank all my team members in different projects for working with me patiently in spite of my shortcomings which might have been observed. My gratitude also goes to the management for all the effort spent on creating an environment and letting me learn and grow. I am surely a better person because of this experience in my initial years. Finally, I thank the company for making me to forget the financial need. This also aided to forget myself and reach out to others.

In the hindsight, I wish there are some changes. I will have liked to take initiatives and attempted to do proactively beating the comfort of routines. However, the tenure is still eventful and in the end I realize there are few mistakes as well. The mistakes which I never thought were mistakes that I had done during my learning curve are: 1. Never followed the true art of living. 2. Never relaxed and enjoyed. 3. Always tried to please everyone 4. Always lived for the day 5. Lacked clarity and control on life in general. If you can assume that with all these mistakes, I am a spoilt and faulty person, then you must also be aware that the products, consequences, implications of the actions of mine are also digressive and faulty. This all leads up to cursing, discouraging and denigrating such a faulty life (as against praising, hailing and prototyping) for the benefit of everyone. Only then, there will be any moderating antidote to this extreme toxic effect. These seem to be intangible mistakes which fades before the real life errors but can be significant when a phase of life is evaluated, since the phase becomes a basis for where you head and what you build.

These mistakes are the aspects which should be imbibed in the culture and taught to an individual during the formative years. Robustness and rigidity in the cultural clarity is a pre-requisite for an individual clarity and successful living thereupon. Building a modern culture and taking it to the reach and practice of all the neglected lives is more important than building an individual. This can be more difficult than opining about it on the unedited internet pages which is the easiest thing to do.

There are many significant events which happen and Cricket World Cup is a serious duel on field. Since there are no longer real wars, countries take it through sports which also reflects the nature and work of the nation.  Who would have expected a country like Afghanistan which is bombarded heavily and scores of people lay down every day to play in a world cup and with a right spirit. It creates a good feel in the nation. Cricket is the main sport which India cares and men playing it become Gods and Demigods. A section of Gods just retired and it is up for the juniors to grab the positions. Since my last hopeless post on this subject, the team won two world cups and looks to continue the march in this world cup. The confidence seem to be brimming high that winning the cup is taken for granted and there is competition for who will win it.
