At the Cusp of Making America Great

A good idea, like Nvidia, is very rare to come by. Powerful ideas have the ability to move and change the world for better.  Every week, I come up with a blog post which means I need to churn out an idea every week. Those who are receptive can sometimes find invaluable gems coming out of this space. The bottom line is we are all built on these eureka moments in various times and these moments are the fuel to our engines. Just like how Archimedes exclaimed ‘Eureka’ when he discovered a method to determine the purity of gold while taking a bath, we all need these eureka moments in abundance to move us ahead in right path. As we are in its pursuit, a good idea is all we want to define good times. Similar to the way how U.S. is built on the foundation of great ideas and continuing to travel through the milestones of novel ideas, the world will be defined and shaped by a set of path-breaking ideas. Now, in similar way, I would like to propose wholeheartedly that the idea that is America should prolong and continue in similar way for many more decades to come. We are in the times of attributing greatness to this country and by virtue of this foundation, the country will continue on its present path of trajectory for many years to come. America is nothing but an idea and this very great idea will sustain this nation from the present times of greatness to many more years ahead. 

There is another concurrent view or movement ongoing which asks for making America great again or the MAGA movement. We need leaders who can define the nation by their overarching aura and take it to greatness. If it is anything, we need to give some credit to this MAGA movement and its leader at the helm, Trump for the arrival of present landscape. It should be indeed their good intentions and work at the grass roots that brought America to the cusp of greatness. Though we may disagree with many of their views and standpoints, they are indeed instrumental in humongous work towards making this nation great again. We need to definitely recognize this perspective and accord highest importance to these groups. For the path and process may differ, but destination remains same. Never twist and hide the reality, for the person at helm, Trump is the most influential person of American mainstream in the last decade. Not a day goes without any major news about this cult figure. Open any news handle on any given day and there will be something about this person, his movement or his umpteen legal issues. For good or bad he has gone through a lot of scrutiny over the years, hogged the limelight in the last decade and still has four more years to serve the nation. For the path he has chosen may be questionable but the service rendered to this nation in making it great is as great as it can get. It is these movements precisely which define the greatness of a nation. What can be inferred from watching with open eyes is, there has been two attempts on his life in recent weeks and he still approaches his work as if nothing has happened. What is the need for the fellow citizens to make attempts on his life for all his service to the nation. What is the need for a person in late seventies to work in this way for the country if not retire in peace after receiving so much hate. It is time to rally around real hard task masters and influential figures than evade the reality, for the loss is nations than the persons. Afterall, the more you despise and live with contempt the higher they will rise. 

From what we can look at the path of the MAGA movement of the last decade and looking at the potential for four more years of unbridled work, the nation will make giant strides in its pursuit of greatness. You can attribute the credit or not but the person at helm is really great and a right figure in heralding the new destination for this nation.  

As mentioned, the path and process of these MAGA multitudes can be questionable and rejected, but the motive and intentions are always right. We can question their economic nationalism, we can question their immigration control stand, we can question their trade barriers, we can question their ultra patriotism and national identity, we can question their corporate tax cuts and we can question their umpteen legal break-ins and issues and, in the end, we are left with million questions than answers. Yet we cannot question their relentless pursuit of their goal and good intentions for this country. Infact who would even come out for this country which made attempts on the life, which took mugshots of the person, which is relentless in defamation and destruction, which is relentless in working for defeat and which has established reasons to remain opposed than support a person. Who would come out to work for a country with half of them in this stand and providing a toughest friction on every step. If not for a person who is motivated to fight and whose love for the country is greater than all the opposition he can ever face. The times can be tricky and cruel but this limitless suppression should pave way for a volcanic rise in prospects of making the country truly great. After all, a country is represented by leaders and leaders are the face of the people. When the leaders are relentless in their pursuit of greatness, it infects the people and make this country truly phenomenal. We are in those days of huge eruption and there need to be a vent to make it happen. All the opposition needs to die and needs to support this movement for all the right reasons. For the paths and stands may differ but the goal is shared, common and same. 

Apart from this interior MAGA movement, there are many factors which are aiding in making the country truly blessed and great. One factor is the blessing the country has received from worldwide immigrants. In the last decade, ever since I came to U.S., this country has consistently had the highest number of immigrants. As of 2020, the U.S. had nearly 51 million international immigrants, making it the top destination for people worldwide. Due to the leadership and other factors, these immigrants are not only flowing but are able to realize their American dream. This is not an ordinary pattern of looking after ourselves but taking care of millions of incoming guests by giving them everything required to succeed. Out of hundreds of millions who wish to immigrate to U.S., tens of millions have turned their aspirations into reality by stepping into this country and most of them have been content with their lives in this country. No other country can attract millions, no other country can welcome millions and no other country is in a shape to succeed millions. This unique pattern underway and the ongoing movement through the outpouring of love from people across the world will sustain and really make this country great. In short, this immigrant pattern of the last decade is one of the reasons behind taking the country to the cusp of greatness.  

Though the many stands of these MAGA multitudes are questionable, I highly condemn their stand on migrants and immigration. The rhetoric of deporting millions of migrants is truly cringeworthy and may backfire their ambitions. The MAGA perspective advocates for stricter immigration policies. Supporters believe that uncontrolled immigration has led to job losses for American citizens and increased crime rates. Though migrants are sometimes burden on resources, the opportunity provided by this country has been compensated in return many times by these immigrants by their hard work, dedication and contribution. Otherwise, how come these immigrants continue doing what they do for the service of this nation for so long. It is high time we recognize this important facet of their work and talk in amicable terms rather than talk in immigrant deriding and deporting terms. For the guests are truly our gods and we need to treat them as such for all their contributions. You may fail to recognize out of high handedness and dogged stand on outsiders but don’t make the mistake of overlooking the reality. The recent example of the rhetoric around immigrants in Springfield, Ohio is an example of their dangerous stand. You can talk bad when something is doing bad to you, but to talk bad of a great pattern underway which is extremely good for you is more than shooting your own self. Creating open borders and open mindset with a good rhetoric on our guests goes a long way in improving our prospects as a nation. 

Along with immigration, there are many other factors which make the country truly great including economic growth and innovation, technological advancements, health care improvements, education and research, social progress and inclusion, infrastructure development, environment initiatives etc. The country is truly a world leader in all these areas and they just need a right environment to scale greater heights. The amalgamation of all these factors, each contributing to its leading the way in unique ways, makes this country truly great. We are all just players on the stage enacting our roles. In recent years, various developments have underscored the country’s progress and resilience in all these areas. While we may downplay the movements which drive the real work, the United States is making significant strides in various areas in reality, from economic growth and technological innovation to social progress and environmental sustainability. While perspectives on what makes the country great may differ, the shared goal of a great, prosperous and resilient nation unites all of us. Afterall, the idea that is U.S. should sustain in similar way for many more decades has built its strong foundation. The idea of a U.S. reaching greater heights has truly put the nation at the doorstep of greatness.
