Taking Deprived Indians To Financial Independence

Since I had touched upon the importance of money for me in the last two blog posts, I would like to talk about the importance of it for a typical Indian. Before that let me continue with my story. Everyone knows I work for money under challenging, frightening and difficult routines. Seeing the nature and severity of my work reach this level, many opine why is it even necessary for me to work in a job if not for salary. It is a reality which I faced and felt many a times in the recent past. Many had even thought about ending my working streak by offering me money. It didn’t reach me in reality but they are happy to satisfy me and keep me under limits than seeing the work reach dangerous levels. For instance, the main reason behind shifting my work location to U.S. and working in U.S. is money. Else, there is no other reason for me go through the difficult, sad routines every day. Even if I leave two years of this duration, just after six months, people were perplexed at the severity of my work and how good it is. It is a sad reality that I had to continue in this way forever for the want of money. I would have been saved from this sometimes pathetic, miserable routines if I was financially independent. After working at the top for so long and after serving for so long, there is no hope, freedom for me to break away from this life. Lack of money is sometimes a boon, for it becomes a reason behind epic work of a salaried employee, and the same continued dangerously for very long becomes a reason for gradual downfall. Hence, it is important for anyone to provide the person with finances and to stop these routines for the want of money. Only if we can evade any harm than doing good. Attaining financial freedom and peace of mind at the nick of time changes the life of a suffering person completely. For instance, if my bank balance is very good, it gives me options and I need not work in a salaried job for a year or six months, which sounds good for everyone. But I didn’t receive any reward nor incentive igniting a light of hope in an otherwise dark life. Where are the pathways for getting rich overnight and the pathways for money reaching the desperate person. There are people who become millionaires in a day, week, month or few years easily and not stay in hunt forever. Where are those channels coming to the rescue of a poor man.

The epic work of these times for the want of money provokes me to suggest an epic move or help in reaching the needy, poor people back in India. Every deprived, desperate and dedicated person or family should be given 10 lakh rupees which should be a direct transfer to his account. No questions asked and as simple as that. The country implemented demonetization and note ban seven years ago. Can it implement the reverse, accord it highest importance, prioritize their well-being, stop the desperate struggles day-in and day-out and give out a reason to celebrate, a reason to feel happy, a reason to live with hope in an otherwise poor, dark lives. Demonetization and note ban to monetizing never ending struggles, poverty, appeasing them with money and giving financial freedom. It would turn the country of poor to country of millionaires. At least, the government or those responsible has a magic wand to take out poverty for some time and welcome the nation to one billion people turned biggest millionaires club of the world. I was able to earn 10 lakh a year by virtue of this job back in India and with ease after reaching onsite. Hardly 1% earn this much in a year in India and at the same time it is not tough to give expense-less, free income of 10 lakh to everyone when a poor person like me earns with sweat and blood for years. When the tough, intelligent and people with finesse work hard, the fruits of labor should reach every common man. I struggled for the lack of it, and it is time to make up for it. And the best way to keep a person happy in India is to give away money.

Let us look into the details of doling out a million. In a country as diverse and populous as India, the notion of giving 10 lakh (1 million) rupees to every underprivileged family require tremendous will power and resource management. Behind every magic there is tremendous work in the background and if you need to alleviate poverty with a magic wand, it requires as much steadfast commitment and dedication. Hence, it is easy to talk about this in words than it is in action. The first step in evaluating the feasibility of this ambitious plan involves determining the number of underprivileged families across India. According to estimates based on census data, there are approximately 50 million families living in poverty. If we were to distribute 10 lakh to each of these families, it amounts to a total cost of around 50 trillion rupees (or approximately 677 billion USD). India’s total budget for 2024-25 is projected to be around 45 lakh crore rupees or 45 trillion. The proposed initiative would require a budget significantly higher than the current total budget. We need to envision higher budgets, higher earning potential and higher give aways if we were to transform the nation. The comparative annual budget of U.S. and China in rupee terms is 540 and 300 trillion respectively. India is far, far away from this developed state and one way to treat the problems of poverty is to infuse more economic resources to its people. This infusion simply needs the government to reallocate resources from other sectors, increase taxes, or seek international aid and loans. To simply pull it off, we need the idea of a greater nation for bottom 20 crore reaching greater territory.

This approach posits that by providing a lump sum of cash assistance, we can alleviate poverty, foster economic growth, and empower families to improve their socio-economic conditions. With approximately 365 million people living below the poverty line according to the Multidimensional Poverty Index, ensuring that support is given to families rather than individuals could create a significant impact. The overarching objective of this scheme is to empower families with financial security, allowing them to invest in education, health, and business opportunities, thus enabling upward mobility. The infusion of 10 lakh can lead to transformative changes in the quality of life for millions. It could help households escape the clutches of debt, improve access to basic necessities, and foster entrepreneurship. Increased consumption and investment by underprivileged families can stimulate economic growth. Improved access to education, healthcare, and housing can lead to better quality of life and social progress. In essence, the scheme endeavors to change the trajectory of entire families, creating a ripple effect that could uplift communities as well.

Allocating 10 lakh rupees to each underprivileged family in India is a bold and ambitious initiative that holds the potential to transform the socio-economic landscape of the country. While there are challenges in terms of funding and implementation, the benefits far outweigh the costs. By providing financial stability, this initiative can uplift millions of families, reduce poverty and inequality, and drive inclusive economic growth. With careful planning, efficient execution, and continuous monitoring, this vision can become a reality, paving the way for a more equitable and prosperous India. We need to simply look at the relief it would give to the suffering and exploited lot. The efforts to create happy underprivileged can lead to a happier India and it is simply something which no amount of money can buy. We all can definitely work towards that reality in our own positions, lead poor Indians towards millionaire’s club and more importantly towards content, happiness.
