Breeding Positivity - My Story of Relocation and Client is God

Well, let me share some life updates. I had been put for work with a great client – Comcast in Philadelphia after clearing few interviews. I relocated from Chicago and began working from Philadelphia since two weeks. Since the client mandates work from office for 4 days a week, I need to relocate without any second option. At last, my life in Chicago or Illinois came to an end after 4 years. What lies ahead is unknown and I am hoping for the best. I need to say, I lived in best livable city in entire US – Naperville, which is why everything fell in place and life happened so effortlessly for very long. When I am living in these places, consider these are best places to work or live all over America. The Comcast towers are tallest buildings in entire Pennsylvania with 60 stories and I am getting to work in it. Or they helped me with an opportunity for my sustenance which small people or small places cannot do. That I am projecting something for the world to see and get amazed by it over the past 4 years is due to these best of best places to live or work coming to my aid. My work from home tenure happened in best city in US and return to office is happening in one of the best places to work or receive help. This way I am exemplifying heaven on Earth, making America as a best country on the planet. Can this story happen at any other place in any other time other than in this mind-blowing passage of time. The world will become a better place for habitation and for humanity to thrive. It is a recipe for exhilarating happiness and joy. As I read somewhere, when you make people happy, you can do no wrong. Yes, only hugs and embraces in this great country and around the world, emanating from this great country. That is what you are doing in effect – multiplying joy and travelling on the correct path. Nothing less will come out of these exemplary episodes in these finest of locations. 

I came to Philadelphia on the day of Ugadi, Telugu new year in the week of Ram navami, followed by the week of Hanuman Jayanti. The first Thursday, I travelled on Ugadi, followed by next Thursday of observing Rama navami and the past Thursday - Hanuman Jayanti. It has been a great beginning of auspiciousness as I already took the blessings from three great temples around the area. The last one, visiting a temple with a tall Hanuman idol on Hanuman Jayanti. On two earlier Thursdays just before relocating, I participated in two great conferences in Chicago which helped the transition happen in a way. It is raining great Thursdays which made things happen for a poor person like me in America. Otherwise, how can a lone, poor, ordinary soul transition from one great place to another and make things happen in America, for America. I think the blessings of divine Sai Baba came to my aid in giving these great weekly Thursdays, in helping me continue the good work in a foreign country. One in privacy might feel it hard to do this and the one in full public view needs extreme strength and support to do these superhuman maneuvers and I alone know the effort which went behind the scenes. 

There is definitely support from near and dear at this turning point after 4 years. It is relocating from the state of Illinois and from the radar of their imagination and what kind of feeling does it cast on the people of an entire state. Imagine that imagination to say about this activity. Help arrived when it mattered most. First, my company Infosys gave me this opportunity to participate in the opportunity where the senior managers are all well placed to look after the paperwork etc. Second, my few roommates and friends who form the very backbone by living closely with me. Third, the community, including the temple where I volunteer and all other acquaintances. Finally and most important of all, the client who gave the word of authorization, without which the entire process will not start. If you can see, the most important central figure is the US client, or for me, the client manager. After years of living in US, my questions are answered at this moment. Where is the US personnel role in my life or career. I knew I am working with US clients but where is their direct role when I am contributing so much for this country. After living for 4 years in US, as you can see, my story revolved around Indians most of the time – from my house to community to company etc. I am no longer living in India and I am a property and responsibility of US now. But still the great Indians never stopped supporting me which is another story. The main question is where is US role or its citizens direct efforts intertwined in my story. I am waiting for this direct intervention. For eg. after living for 4 years and contributing so much to Illinois, did any Illinois citizen did anything to directly affect my life. Did they give me job, did they give me company, did they give me any direct money, did they share the burdens of my roommates or those of close quarters. While I am waiting for these answers, miracle happened at last. The great client arrived on the scene and by virtue of which everything else happened. When I say client, it is more client manager; when I say Infosys, it is more Infosys managers. They are the ones who play a part in these abnormal times of heightened role-play situations of severity, which is why I talked about de-escalation for continuity and longevity. I might have taken too much from these organizations but I hope I give as much and hope it will be great for them as well. The great client Comcast, hinging upon which everything else happened so far. To clean up, vacate and move on from Illinois to make a positive story, something as big needs to be stationed to pull me from bottom up. It would not have been possible without a client so big as this. I thank them for help in making a positive story with this transition. 

Finally, I need a pen, I need a pencil, I am a pen, and I arrived in Pennsylvania. A lot to co-relate. I have been writing every week since 2020. More than 400 high impact articles. I feel the present tenure in Penn city does a 10% justification to my pen work. It is a minimum and I don’t feel there is justice and I am justified for all that has happened to me in past couple of years. There is faint justice in the world and for all my herculean writing efforts, I have been given a small reward. Just a 10% cover up for what I gave and endured. I feel with my gut about this present tenure as a step in that direction and not some fluke interpretation. It also has to do with my home state back in India feeling positivity after my prolonged absence. Positive things happen for initiating positivity. Neverthless, multiple factors as listed above converged to give this present stint and I hope it is a step in right direction despite eliciting a lot of greenery. Something magnanimous always happen through a series of links of multiple factors forming a giant chain in pulling the event apart. I think with my head there are many positives than negatives which may emerge in review and I decide to continue than give-up. 

Talking about giving up, it is very early and there are occasions when I felt like giving up. This is due to my own shortcomings and inability to adjust to the new environment. A lot of people helped me to onboard but they can’t help me to do my job. After six long years of remote work, I have been working from office with real teams. This is akin to transition from covid remote work to office setting. I lived in my own terms during the past six years and adjusting to new template will be difficult. On top of it, the setting is a very rich office in US and I am still figuring out how to adapt. Nevertheless, I bring my own strengths to make the deal. Questions still haunt me about my ability to do the job and adapt to new working conditions. On top of everything, the main issue is safety and when this is overlooked nothing else matters. I strongly feel this is taken care and I can somehow continue in the job despite bouts of discomfort and will-not-work thoughts. 

I have been using the client name as my new client since last two months and it gives a good feeling to be associated with. Client is God and the most important part for the business. There is no denying the fact. Everything happens because of them. Here I give a interesting story of the client site which was told to me during the tour, to shed a positive light on their influence so far. “ For decades, a gentleman’s agreement ensured no building in Philadelphia would rise taller than the hat of William Penn’s statue atop City Hall – the founder upon whom the state is named. But in 1987, the construction of One Liberty Place violated this tradition, and soon after, Philadelphia’s major sports teams entered a long championship drought. Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers—all failed to win titles from 1987 to 2008. The superstition became part of Philly sports lore. Many locals still believe that keeping William Penn at the city’s highest point ensures good fortune for its teams. In 2007, a small William Penn figurine was placed atop the final beam of the Comcast Center. Just months later in 2008, the Phillies won their first World Series since 1980. In 2017, another Penn statue was added to the Comcast Technology Center, the new tallest building. The following season, the Eagles won their first-ever Super Bowl. “ This is as interesting as it is believed and happened on both occasions. If I continue in this work place, I will share few more stories of the great client.
