100 days of war and Russia-Ukraine Crisis Part 7

You need to take cognizance of the war started by Russia over Ukraine and why it is still happening for over 100 days. With such devastating consequences for the two countries, the true picture still at bay, no one ever knows why Russian leadership decided to attack Ukraine. It is not fully known of the true toll of the past 3-4 months on both sides. Anyhow it may span, Putin has outgrown any U.S. President of modern times in destroying a country. This is the most unprovoked, diabolical, baseless, illogical war started by any leader of the world. Putin has become a modern-day Hitler, by abusing power and inspiring the largest country of the World to be at war by planning and executing for the past many months.

Everyone knows how Hitler used war as a tool to propel Germany into new frontiers. Putin just followed the same path and wreaked modern day havoc upon Ukraine. Putin is this century's equivalent to Hitler, and the threat he poses to Europe, U.S. and global security extends far beyond the current conflict in Ukraine. Like Hitler, Putin has amassed unquestionable power in Russia, wiped out political opposition with little to no check on his regime and its use of military force or other hybrid tools to brutally carve out and illegally conquer territory in surrounding nations. He seems to be building the Russian empire over the dead bodies of people, soldiers and destruction of Ukraine. Putin’s rule and walk over the dead bodies is the deadliest reality one can open the eyes to, in the contemporary world.

It has been more than 100 days and with so much blood on his hands, Putin needs to justify his actions – what has he achieved for Russia, what has he achieved for Ukraine, what has he achieved for the world. Any war begins in one’s mind, in the state of his mind and as a consequence of his actions. The turbulence of a man creates turbulence in the world. The disturbance in his inner self creates chaos in the world. After drawing so much blood and becoming modern day Hitler, is there any hope for those leaders and the countries. After going through an emotional rollercoaster, are there any days of hope for the people of those two countries? When so many people in those two countries have lost a lot, where do they head from here? Will the suffering be in isolation or catch up to the other parts of the world? Who will take responsibility for the war, cover the ground, regain the lost territory and bring everyone to normality? As mentioned, who will justify the war and bear the ill-consequences of the past 4 months.

There are many paths one can take, and war is the tool which the so-called developed countries take, at least in the recent past. The 2 world wars and this present-day war is happening between European countries using modern weapons. Europe, as a continent should give high importance to peace and non-violence. Whatever you want to achieve, get it through peaceful means and don’t employ the lowest form of tactic of overpowering one another through violent means. The nations of Europe must stop overwhelming the world with the violent tactics every now and then. The modern-day wars are highly intimidating with the availability of state-of-the-art weapons in possession of every player. You never know when these leaders will become wicked and abuse their power by employing the destructive weapons.

Learn from the life of Mahatma Gandhi, learn from the Indian Freedom struggle which demonstrated peace and non-violence as the most potent weapon in the world. India needs to play an important role and teach the world the virtues of the father of its nation and make every player embrace the same. You cannot live in blind isolation to the surroundings. What you do to prevent the war is far more important than what you provide as a meager humanitarian aid after the full-blown war has started. The rich principles embedded in the foundation of our nation should be always practiced by us and propagated all over the world for the greater peace and order. We need to work-out the nations spreading harm and violence. We need to assume higher responsibilities and become an important role player to curb the potential wicked players. A giant of a nation subdued, calm, sleeping and keeping to itself is far more dangerous than leaving the world to foul players. When a principled nation is encouraged to dominate the world, the ideals manifested will spread throughout which brings harmony in the world. That is the way the country grows, and the world grows.

On the other hand, everyone knows the artistic brilliance of the U.S. in this regard. This country expands its military to every corner of the world and does not have peace in its dictionary or know anything about that word. The citizens of this country hold more dangerous weapons than the soldiers in a war zone. I nearly fainted while writing about the domestic gun violence and looking at the weapon statistics. With such a track record, this country exports the home-grown violence for free and stopping any war is a joke. It will either aggravate the minute war by providing more hi-tech weapons to the other nation or directly participate in the war if it suits the agenda. This is what this nation is doing by building associations like NATO and bringing in more military, weapons, and warships onto the table.

The U.S. spends on defense more than the next 9 countries combined.  The U.S. spends 801 billion dollars on defense whereas the next 9 countries – China, India, U.K, Russia, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea combinedly spend a mere 777 billion dollars. This is the ‘brilliance’ of the country and its policy framed by the ‘greatest’ minds to instigate wars, develop wars, add fuel to fire and destroy nations. This is highly unnecessary and efforts to relinquish weapons, disarmament, and peaceful resolution of any conflict should be given highest priority. You cannot maintain peace in the world when you have a violent home. Reform yourself first, your homes next, your country next and then talk about the other countries and their affairs. The world need not see a wild, violent, pesky kid dominating and bullying feeble adults. Alas, these are the times we are living in.

The point here is which responsible player takes the lead to maintain order in the world. The present dynamics do not fit the agenda and Putin appears to be more in the war with the West than against Ukraine. The 100 days of war should serve a purpose, should propel meaningful outcomes, should lessen the pain of the suffering and should bring justice to the dead. Let us pray for hope, war to stop and light to shed on those 2 countries as soon as possible. For all its suffering, Ukraine needs everyone’s support in its darkest times and none other than the country’s President epitomized the spirit of Ukraine in the best possible manner. The way he carried himself even when there is destruction in every part of his country is a picture to behold and a lesson to teach. This will definitely uplift the nation and put the country back on track. I will go into details of the war and more specifics in any subsequent posts. Let us all once again pray for this unfortunate war, for Russia to erase its guilty consciousness and for Ukraine to erase its wounds and lessen the suffering.
