Coronavirus Part 12, Going Crazy and Ominous Signs For The Nation
While
I am writing serial blog posts on personal experiences and covid-19, it might
look in some angles like I am crazy doing all this. It is crazy because nothing
is real about this blogging. I don’t get any direct comment on the post. I lose
a night sleep every week without getting anything in return. I lose many hours
in thinking about the present, past and future posts. I assume all my readers as
anonymous with no one giving any direct comment or feedback. I read through
tweets of anonymous readers for indirect comment or feedback. This blog-writing
in a way is a classic example of highest levels of hallucination or delusion –
the author is anonymous, readers are imaginary, feedback or comment is indirect
or imaginary, the effect it produces is imaginary and finally everything about
it is a big imagination.
Hallucination in a constant recurrence mode
is a psychotic disorder and needs to be treated by a qualified psychiatrist. When these hallucinations are
steadily peaking as episodes of posts go by, I reach a new level of craziness
which must have been observed by many outsiders. My mental health becomes
disoriented lot of times and by virtue of Gods grace, I have been pulled from
the brink a lot of times as well. The mental health, its balance, orientation
are some of the prices I may have to pay for writing these weekly updates. I
have been a patient of psychological disorders and receiving medication from
the last 6 years or more. Rather than writing these blog posts, maybe I can try
and write an article in news paper which will bring me closer to reality. I can
do some good to myself if I live in the real world, interacting with real
humans.
But there are two kinds of men
lying there; the first kind is targeting me to destroy by labelling me as
crazy. They are real bad men who influence me negatively and I wish that their
nefarious designs will never succeed. The second category constructively
criticise me and as a consequence, I bring great results after labelling me as ‘mad’.
Those who defy the status quo or the existing convention are the ones who will
be labelled as ‘mad’. The world calls some people as crazy because the rest of the
world never really understood the crazy person’s true nature. Many famous personalities
have gone through the same period and came out doing wonders. There is a
dialogue in Telugu movie in which the hero says ‘I am little crazy, but it is
well calculated’. Those who have that controlled and calculated craziness are
often highly ambitious and achieve things that alter the dynamics of the world.
Steve Jobs once said of the
crazy ones in his words – “Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels,
the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes ... the ones who see
things differently -- they're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for
the status quo. ... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify
them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change
things. ... They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as
the crazy ones, we see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think
that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” He then kick-started his
return journey to Apple and the rest is history. In fact, U.S. is full of
people who are crazy and at the same time great achievers. The country oozes
craziness in every inch and is a heaven for crazy people. Hope this controlled
craziness of mine also bring good results to one and all.
Like I feel depressed sometimes,
many an individual also feel the same during some point or the other. You
should control the depression and never let depression control you. This can be
done through proper medication, talking to counsellors, family, friends and doing
things which keep you in good spirits. Like everything else, this also should
be tamed but should not be the reason for taking extreme step. A fine young
actor taking his own life is the most ominous sign one can see for the nation.
This simply denotes something is not going well for the nation.
Looking at the covid-19 statistics,
there are a total of 85.54 lakh infected cases worldwide and 4.55 lakh people
dead. In the past week, 9.7 lakh new cases came up and 32 thousand passed away.
More than 9.7 lakh new cases have been registered which is the highest surge in
single week so far. U.S.A, India, Brazil, Russia are the ongoing hotspots for
the spread of the virus. The number of infections is still rising week after
week which means the world is not yet safe to move around. I talked about the
galvanising effect which bought people to the streets asking for activity. I had to confess that I motivated them at the
wrong time. When they had to confine to the houses, they came out and the
infected cases are now registering around 12,000 daily. This is simply something
which can be avoided had I stayed indoors but I didn’t and contributed myself
to the rising number of cases. I am partly responsible for creating chaos in
the country by freely moving around at the time of lockdown. This is one of the
factors which contributed to the lockdown failure in the post-mortem analysis. In
an ominous sign, this is how my presence sometimes can be detrimental to the
nation. While I must have helped in re-opening of the economy, it came at the
cost of high rate of infections. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi continue to
be the prominent hotspots in the country. Tamil Nadu government took the step
to impose lockdown once again from June 19th to June 30th
in Chennai and surrounding districts where cases are concentrated more. Delhi,
which eased the restrictions during lockdown time is facing the heat now.
Another ominous sign is the
utter negligence shown by the bordering countries towards the territorial
sovereignty of India. Nepal has re-drawn its geographical map by enlisting few
places which belong to India as its own.
Nepal’s both houses approved the bill unanimously which also got the nod
of the President. Next, there is China which is claiming Galwan valley in the
Ladakh as its own. This resulted in the physical confrontation between the two
sides and 20 army men from India made supreme sacrifice. It is the first time
in 45 years that army suffered loss of lives in a standoff with China. While I
would like both the nations to be supportive of each other and friendly,
tensions are flaring at the border. It is highly important for India to
maintain peaceful relations with all the bordering nations which include
Pakistan, China, Nepal etc. It would be the failure of the foreign policy if it
does not do so. It would save lot of precious lives while at the same time reducing
the burden on armed forces from guarding against many bordering nations.
