Corona Virus Part 3, Blessings To The Land, Selfless Living
I
have started to write these weekly wrap ups as an activity to get me occupied
in this lockdown. I would like to challenge myself occasionally and this is one
of those. After writing lengthy articles in the recent past these short write-ups
became simple. It means if you run 20 kms once a month, running 10 kms once a
fortnight will become easier. Try to increase your capacity and you will feel
it easy when doing smaller works. This also gave me an opportunity to speak my
mind more often. When you are immersed in writing something weekly, your mind
will be kept busy and purposeful rather than stale and dull. Keeping it aside, my
increased frequency also has to do with the virus pandemic. These are no
ordinary days but something unprecedented which has made all the leaders at all
levels work on the toes to ward off the virus threat and bring normality. I am
a leader in my own capacity and everyone agreed the same as well, even if it is
virtually. I am doing my bit to bring the situation under control and not let
it spill out of proportions. I have increased the frequency for one of the
reasons – to spread normality in abnormal times. I am also working to limit the
damage done by this pandemic, through awareness created from this blog and
working on the ground. My weekly analyses are never to be misunderstood for any reason other than the above.
On the
ground, I am distributing food to migrant labourers which is a new activity of
my life. When persons like me and the like-minded come in synergy to produce noble
outcomes, then heavens open up and bless the land. I felt like, it will rain,
when I distributed for the first or second time. Promptly the heavens opened up
in the mid of the summer and there is heavy downpour of rain in that week. God
blesses the land when there is a consolidation of noble deeds done together
after the individual practice to become better. God also blesses the land when
the needs of underprivileged and unfortunate are met and they are content with
their lives. At times like these, the poor and the daily labourers become
vulnerable. Government and the concerned individuals must do their bit to keep
them in good spirits. I also felt that no one must live with hunger after this
experience. Fortunately, I have been in the home for the past few years and always
had good diet. It has become my wish and desire to God to give the same to
everyone around the world after the donating experience.
As
mentioned, I have been working to limit the damage of this pandemic and as
such, I made myself busy even during this lockdown time. Lockdown is meant to
become house arrest but it is not the same with me. I have been regular even
during these times and one of the outcomes of being regular and continuous is
you become selfless and works for other people. I personally don’t need this
much of activity but works for the good of others. For instance, I don’t have
to write these many blog posts weekly. It is suffice for me if I write once
every now and then and not this often. I have been doing it for the benefit of
larger spectrum and greater good. Our lives can be lived for many number of
purposes. But only when we embrace service and selflessness will we find
lasting significance of our existence. Out of my living style and my job, I am
into this selfless world and working for others continuously. I live for the
people, I live for the society, I live for my state, I live for my country, I live
for the world and live very little for myself. In the words of Swami Vivekananda
– They only live, who live for others, the rest are more dead than alive.
We are in
the middle of the fight with Corona and till date there are around 22 lakh infected
victims and 1.44 lakh deceased persons around the world. The past week has seen
highest rise of cases and there has been an increase of 7 lakh infected and
50,000 dead in this week alone. These numbers don’t occur unless it is a world
war and the world is at war with Corona. The virus cases almost doubled and grew
by 90% in this week alone in India and stood at 12,759 with 423 deaths. It has
been a puzzle how the number has doubled during the lock-down. The cases must
have been late to come into light before spreading to others. It is important to
test as many as possible and isolate the infected person in the initial stages itself before he transmits to the neighbors. Maharashtra is the state with most number
of cases – around 3000, followed by Delhi with 1500. It means the cities with
two busiest international airports in the country – Mumbai and Delhi took the heavy
toll and the rest of the country saw minimal cases. The coming few weeks are
very important and by practicing social distancing and following lock down, we
can flatten the curve which is on a meteoric rise since the past few weeks.
The leaders
priorities are also very well aligned to the requirement and they want no deaths and ready to face
economic loss and turmoil resulting out of the lock-down. The work and resolve
of the leaders in containing the virus is praiseworthy, politics are never
played over the pandemic and opposition party is also considered to gather the
views to check the virus. It has been a good decision to extend lock-down to May 3rd, balancing the economic loss and loss to people lives. My residing state CM vowed never to allow the virus
enter the state 40 days back itself and has been in full preparedness ever
since. There has been limited cases but no panic whatsoever from any one. The
virus will certainly get defeated before their conviction. In a way, the kind
of leadership that is provided in protecting its citizens also decides if the
pandemic will break loose or not. Those who felt the responsibility like me are
toiling hard for others to relish the lock-down.
