For A U.S. To Turn Into Industrious Self
It has been some time since I started to work in U.S. While
it may be natural, the period is more of a time of hard work. It is also quite common
that people from other countries who want be successful put in a lot of efforts
to make a footprint in U.S. This is also true in case of Indians coming to
U.S. and giving their everything to bag hard-earned money. The pattern is very
much similar to any first-generation immigrants working hard and making the
ends meet in a new country. This is also true for any class – be it students,
adults on jobs or home makers. Everyone needs to dig in and slog their way
through to create a future for their own selves. I also lived among a group of
individuals who slogged in jobs for most of the time and looking for hard
earned money. In the age, era, direction and place of industrial revolution;
being industrious is the virtue through which the time went by in the past many
months.
These are the reasons why we are being tough in the U.S., and
it should be that way. Every penny earned has the smell of sweat on it. I made
it a point to produce the output through wholesome hard efforts. There is no
leeway or easy way out of the maze and the only way is through hard work. Even
though I am not man enough for it, I am trying my best. Just to remind of my
routine – I work by standing for 5 to 6 hours and then cycle for 5 to 6 miles
every day. Occasionally the miles go beyond 10 – for instance I cycled 13 miles
in total to visit a temple for several months every week. I might be thrusting an
impression on the onlookers by being so physical but that is how it was panned.
It is living by spending these calorie routines and building something through
the accumulation of these numerous, collective efforts. Whatever has been
manufactured, built or created as an outcome; it is through the invisible sweat
in the cold nation.
While it is imperative that individuals need to work hard for
themselves, it is also the fuel for the nation’s engines to propel its wheels forward.
The nation needs these individuals who can put in efforts for three reasons: 1.
Success 2. Sustainability 3. Standard. Regarding the first one, success can be
individual success and national success as well. Coming to individual success,
the nation must be hard working for an individual like me to succeed. Remember,
I failed on three earlier attempts because of the ecosystem which failed me.
Now everyone who is part of this ecosystem is ramped up which is one of the reasons
for my success. When individuals succeed, it becomes the success of the nation
as well. In a way, the U.S. has succeeded, from my eyes.
The American success lies in realizing this American dream of
everyone who comes to seek it. If it wants to succeed lakhs of students, lakhs
of jobseekers and lakhs of everyone who put their foot on this land, the
simple ingredient in the recipe is the hard work. Ultimately, when the majority
of people are putting this ingredient in their recipes, they become successful,
succeed many others and projects a successful nation to the world. The nation
which is young cannot fail in its journey for this hard work is to the young
and energetic till you age well. The success of a nation in the larger scheme
of things, its relevance to the world is very much on cards which can be counted
in many individual moments like these. For the eccentric culture of a nation to
have its impression upon the world, the nation needs to validate itself as being
successful. Unless the ways and means are proven through rigorous routines, you
cannot become a successful nation. It brings home the importance of this factor
at this point of its journey. We need not illustrate further on this hard work to
an immigrant nation like U.S. and to establish itself to receive and succeed crores
of immigrants.
The second reason for putting in hard work is
sustainability. Anyone who wants to maintain the status quo needs to dig in and
work hard. For a U.S. to fight the future wrought with fraud, the secret is putting
in the efforts and preventing a certain bubble burst. The country has great days
of past and present but unpredictable future. To be in a strong shape for a
good future and maintain the past, the nation needs to strengthen itself by
becoming well-placed to prevent a certain fraud. Thus, hard work makes
individuals and nations sustainable. When nations are sustainable, it prolongs
the humanity and makes the planet sustainable as well. The young nation that is
U.S. need to imbibe this culture of hard work into its DNA to validate itself
and its methods. The country which has experienced great success in the past need
to maintain itself into the future on the same plane. Something which is
acquired in a short term will not linger for longer periods if the basis is
smart work rather than hard work. Simply, the products or nations built through
hard work stays longer and becomes sustainable.
The third reason is the standard. This is plain that whoever
wants to position as leaders of the world, you need to have sound authenticity
towards it. It is simple that to set high standards and to lead the world, the
basic essential ingredient is hard work. You should be recognized by your standards
of work ethic rather than dubiously projected results. The nation should be
recognized by its standards and accepted by one and all to lead the planet
towards a bright future. One definite ingredient to set the standard of the
nation and its work ethic is the hard work. This is all about the reasons why
the nation needs individuals to put its wheels in motion towards right direction.
To sum it up, there has been a revolution in U.S. in the
past many years towards pushing the nation into the cusp of hard-working
brilliance. This is the reason behind the success of persons like me and my reciprocity
in working hard symbolizes the environment in the air. The point has been
reached to harness the manufacturing potential of this industriousness. One way
to symbolize this moment is to capture the flow and become the manufacturing giant.
The ‘Made in U.S.’ is a great symbol of this shift and the essential goods in ordinary
citizens life should come out of this churn under the very label. The nation should
slowly be recognized as industrious, and the new additions should add up to the modified
image.
Let us look at some of the ground realities. The country
currently meets 71 percent of its final demand with regional goods, trailing
Germany (with 83 percent), Japan (86 percent), and China (89 percent).
Though the manufacturing is going well for the country’s necessities, it is
still trailing by a stretch in crucial areas. Today, US manufacturing has
reached an inflection point. The decade leading up to the COVID-19 crisis saw
the sector recover some of its earlier declines: 1.3 million manufacturing jobs
were added to the economy between 2010 and 2019, following the loss of 5.8
million jobs over the previous ten years. During the 2008 recession, a
large decline in industry employment occurred when the manufacturing industry
lost 2 million jobs or 17 percent of workforce and the manufacturing employment
fell to its lowest since March 1941. It is also worth noting the manufacturing industry
jobs have peaked in 1979 to 20 million. The number of manufacturing jobs have
decreased from 17 million in 2001 to 13 million in 2022. The entire point is that
there are times when there is a glorious past for the country few decades back.
Most of the populace are in industrious jobs which also signified an upbeat
mood in the nation during the period.
In same way, the uptick in recent past is staggering as far
as manufacturing jobs are concerned. A historic manufacturing boom in the
United States is being overseen—with more than 750,000 manufacturing jobs
created just in the last two years. This rise needs to be steady which
is the case in the last 15 years to slowly nudge the nation back to its best
industrious self.
A strong manufacturing economy unlocks important employment
and advancement opportunities—a factor set to grow in significance if current
job market pressures ease. Manufacturing is the main economic engine and
primary employer in around 500 US counties today, and in those communities, the
industry employs a significant percent of the overall population and does so
more inclusively. Reviving manufacturing could add up to 1.5 million
jobs, particularly among middle-skill workers, which would help recalibrate the
US labour market and bolster the middle class.
On the whole, an industrious U.S. will be a great template
to the world as the nation continue to lead the world. After the past many
months of slogging, I feel the air is ripe with success, sustainability and good
standards. These need to be carried into the future to give a great platform
for the future dwellers in the nation.
