Coronavirus Part 26, Uncontrolled Living, Vaccinating the Future, Improving Road ways

One of the features of my life till date is I am an uncontrolled person. Though I do not show anger, I can easily get agitated and lose my control. It is a big gaping hole in my personality. I am any ordinary person but sometimes become important. This drawback can become a setback in some critical moments. For instance, an uncontrolled leader grown to gigantic proportion can set the whole land out of control. Hence to shape a good personality, control is very important. It is all too important for hardworking men of action who are trailblazers, path breakers, flag bearers, forerunners and set-the-ball-rollers. This control should begin at an young age and should gradually imbibe into the personality as one becomes an adult.

A child is controlled by his father and an adult is controlled by a woman. The absence of both these compressing forces has given rise to the present form of me. By nature men are uncontrolled and wild. It is the nature and beauty of the fairer sex to tame these wild animals and put them within limits. A man has to downsize himself and surrender to a woman. It never happened with me as I resisted them in my public life all the time. I somehow missed these milestones in my journey to inject some control and looking for a difficult change at this overblown juncture. Control should be inculcated in the house and should carry along the person as he steps outside. Men should not roam like untamed wild animals giving rise to uncontrolled phenomenon. To add, the phenomenon I am leading can be seen as uncontrolled in some ways. It is increasing day by day and growing out of proportion by each passing day.

Controlled nuclear reaction can produce useful product which is electricity while an uncontrolled reaction can produce products of destruction which are nuclear bombs. This uncontrolled phenomenon, for which I am at the centre, can also become dangerous. This has been the norm since the past 3 to 4 years and increasing in past year and half. Just for instance, who would have the desire to go to a place of worship every single day and what would be the result of such an activity over a period of time. Why can’t I demand a right to controlled, oriented and peaceful life as against an uncontrolled, disoriented and disturbed living? I wish every person in the world get the former three after these turbulent times are over. I hope my suffering with this uncontrolled personality disorder will soon find a medicine and the basics are done right for more fruitful outcomes.

That I am unchained and uncontrolled is for sure but a more positive way to look at this uncontrolled phenomenon is I am growing or stepping a level up. As I mentioned earlier, I am being graduated to next level over a period of time and here I am, acting at a plane far above the surface of the Earth. I am certainly reaching the next level and fearful of the position I am in. This everyday struggle is certainly the way to do that. I do hope the past actions of mine and the results of it are assured to give positive results. The surrounding world has certainly become a much more optimistic place to live as a result and the future looks bright.

Moving on, the starting point to alleviate a lot of suffering would be to weed out the virus from the world. It might take its own time but vaccinating everyone will help restore the lost days. While some countries fared well in the battle against the virus, some others did poorly. Since we live in a connected world, it can be said that no one is safe until everyone is safe. The countries which are topping the charts of virus infections need to be more responsible for the sake of everyone else and limit the deaths, spread of virus. It has to be noted that the most highly, densely populated countries like China, India has lower infections per million than anywhere else in world. They did a great job in preventing a night mare of a situation.

Anything could have happened - the infections could have skyrocketed, deaths could have raised proportionally, economy could be heavily nosedived. But the gamble in opening the gates paid off as the infections reduced, deaths remain low and the economy is posting good recovery with the help of stellar leadership who are responsible and came up with good measures to tackle the pandemic. I think, objectively, India lead the world in tackling the pandemic in a best possible way. It maintained a fine balance in gradually opening up everything and ensuring the infections do not go up at the same time in a country with 1.3 billion population. Since the last few months, almost everything is back to normal. There is heavy traffic on the roads, people are travelling in all modes of transportation, all the houses of business are open etc.

More than 68 lakh health care and frontline workers are vaccinated in the shortest time in the country. In yet another daring step, all the public schools from 9th class are opened for in-person classes since last few weeks. These kids need to be vaccinated first since they are not only young but also live among groups in a school. It is a good thought to inoculate the higher class children and help them further the education without further loss. To reiterate, the school going children need to be vaccinated as soon as possible to restore their childhood. The pace of inoculation has to pick up as well in the coming months.

I travelled quite a number of times in this pandemic and the most recent trip was to the temple town of Shirdi. My visit was also more like an inspection. While the facilities, arrangements are up to the mark in the holy town, there is something else lacking. The roads connecting the town with nearby tourist locations are very poor and require lot of repair work. From my own experience, I travelled to another location in an auto at night for a temple visit. These drivers take a risk in overloading the vehicle and driving at high speeds on a road filled with potholes. I am counting every minute of the journey and as feared, the tyre busted with a sound and fortunately the vehicle remained stable. Sometime ago, the driver repaired the spare tyre as a precaution which helped in the middle of nowhere. He changed the tyre, continued the journey and thankfully we all returned safe. The next morning we made a trip to Aurangabad and it is yet another dirty road with lot of patches, potholes causing bumps all the way. If the roads around a major tourist location are like that, imagine the plight of the roads elsewhere. This is highly unacceptable which is affecting the livelihood of operators and safety of passengers and vehicles. I condemn those responsible for this negligence. When we are talking a lot about development, the actions on the ground and the ground realities speak otherwise.

From my own experience as a kid, I used to suffer travelling on a cycle on a road connecting my residence in my hometown. But once, the then CM, NCBN visited a college through that inner road and the entire road was re-laid pitch black out of fear of him. My joy knew no bounds as a kid and my rides on cycle are very comfortable for many years aftermath. Laying a single road can do wonders for its users besides improving transport, connectivity and commerce along the way. The pandemic provided an excellent opportunity to perfect the roads due to lack of traffic and government worked on the same in Hyderabad. The same could have implemented in other areas as well but what we saw is highly disappointing. NDA government pioneered the concept of laying new roads during Vajpayee tenure but this government in centre and Maharashtra is lack lustre, seems all words and no action. Leave about major goals, at least the bare minimum essential roads need to be in very good shape all over the country connecting cities, towns and villages. The entire road network should be top-notch which is a good parameter of developed country.
