Self-Review, Pitch For More Offshore Centres, Look at CAA, Capital Protests and Corona Virus
Many of those who read
my previous post are of the opinion that I had written a brilliant piece. It
puzzled me a bit since I consider myself an ordinary writer and thought of
disowning this blog for all its brilliance. I accept that I am meritorious as a
kid but as I age to be an adult, became below average. Hence an average person
can only write relatively ordinary stuff when compared to other great writers.
By reading this ordinary stuff, people think I have everything and they live in
depression. It is an art to fool around by wearing a mask and I seemed to have
mastered the art by coercing everyone into false beliefs. The artist alone know
that he is nothing and not everything. If my posts make you believe I have
everything, then you are under false impression created by con artist. I know
my many defects and deficiencies as a person. As mentioned in an earlier post,
I am fit for nothing and can only write some random trash.
In my day to day activities, I come across
many situations which show my limitations as a person. I am not a perfect man
and live with many insecurities arising out of lack of bare minimum qualities.
To list a few – a blue collar work man I interacted with, caught me within
seconds and observed that I don’t belong to the city I live in. Yes, I belong
to a remote forest not a city. I hang my head in shame at this discovery by a
mean person. I know this truth but he noticed it well. Many others observed that
I don’t deserve to be living in my house in an apartment. They opine that I
belong to a much lower place. A colleague who spoke to me assessed me that I am
a misfit in software company. A manager observed me to be unknown and strange
after speaking for just few minutes. I felt very bad at my shortcomings in
professional work. I am above 30 and still don’t know how to maintain a girlfriend
and speak to opposite sex. Even Lord Ram has Sita in the ancient period but I
have none in the modern days and has a big void. It is not a conscious choice
but my inability to maintain one. I constantly get reminded how difficult and
different it is to be like that because of my imperfections. Because of all
these defects, I live with many insecurities and struggle, scramble in life to
cover them up. Yet, people think I have everything which is like an oxymoron –
everything in nothing. The grass is always greener on the other side but the
truth is that there is no grass and just illusion. Hence I request one and all
to lift the illusory veil and look at the real me which reveals the sorry state
of affairs.
I have been regular since
the past many months putting my best efforts which many think at different
points of time that I am qualified for a marriage. Like many of the
deficiencies listed above, I know deep within me that I am not a marriage
material. It is known that I may not lead a successful married life which is
why no one comes forward with a proposal. No one accepts my proposal and no one
shows interest in me. This once again proves that the person with seemingly
everything is nothing in real life matters. All that glitters are not gold. You
need to rise from within and not simply shine outside. But, is marriage
necessary - You need to lead a meaningful, purposeful life and not simply go
through a wayward living. I had reached a stage from where if I am moving in
the correct direction, then it would benefit millions of countrymen. I need to
shape up, deliver on my promise to reach my potential which would invariably
bring out the potential of this country.
It occurs to me sometimes that if I am good
the country will be good or I am the personification of the soul of this
country. When the body is good, works good and be Godly, its soul will also
move towards enlightenment, attains nirvana and be one with God. Hence from
being at the pinnacle with maximum range, I need to be meaningful in my
pursuits and take steps to benefit the multitudes. To marry or not to marry must
be one of the many steps in that direction. There have been a bunch of leaders
in the country who remained bachelors and became role models. From Abdul Kalam
to Vajpayee to present P.M. to leader of opposition to C.M. of Bengal to C.M.
of Orissa to C.M. of UP and many others have loved the people more than their
personal lives. India is a great country because it has many able people who
sacrificed their personal lives in the service of living Gods. Something can be
learned from them to lead a meaningful bachelor life. On a side note I confess
that I am married to my mobile phone since past few years. It is a great companion
to hang out with in free time and in the bed. I don’t know if this addiction is
for good or bad but hope it will continue only if it is good.
It
has been nearly three years since I am continuously serving my home land or the
home land serving me. While a nomadic lifestyle suits me instead of being stuck
in a single place, I have been restricted to my house since long. After the
visa denial, my plan to move did not materialized. Not just change in place,
there are several other changes as well. When I am away from home success
eluded me as I did not get any job and lived mostly on empty stomach. I am
hunger for success, hunger for job, hunger for food, hunger for money and
hunger for more. But when I returned home, this hunger satiated as I am passing
the interviews, engaged in job continuously, getting salary and eating good
food. To simply say, my stomach is full and I no longer has space left for any
further achievements. This is one of the reasons to move to a new place and get
my stomach empty for more. I miss those trips.
Thinking about the foreign
trips, I feel I am fortunate to touch upon the people beyond my own country. I
got a chance to work for another mighty nation and affect them positively. I am
never business minded and only knows to serve without expecting the equivalent
in return. As I have maintained, I work in a way to serve the interests of
foreign nation which had my trail left behind. Many U.S. citizens have reckoned
that my presence did wonders to that country by acting like an invigorating
catalyst to their economy. I failed continuously in my pursuit to get a job
which acted as a lesson to the nation to provide employment to all job seekers.
The labour market is now booming and unemployment is at historic low, thanks to
efforts from individuals like me who work keeping future generations in mind. I
might fail, but it will be a sacrifice to the success of future. I might leave
them in disappointment and in pain, but it will be a path to fulfilment and
joy in the future. I still wish the country produces path breaking innovations
for the betterment of humanity all over the world. These innovators should be
successful in their pursuit towards tackling modern day problems and should not
end up like me as a failure in the land. Unlike yesteryears, the modern day
problems are bigger and bigger and it takes far greater minds to tackle them
successfully. I left them in pretty good shape to do all this.
While I did not get a job in U.S., I worked
for several U.S. projects and clients after coming back to home nation. After
my last project stint, I once again got into working with an U.S. client. In a
way they enable and sustain me to continue doing what I am doing. Though I am
not working in the U.S., I am doing the job for them through offshore development
centre in India. It is a wonderful concept by my company wherein the client
work will get done at lower price while at the same time employment is
generated in the remote home nation. This is a win-win situation for both the
countries. I did not work with them in U.S. but working for them from India.
This not only gives employment opportunities to people like me but also allows
us to develop the communities we live in. This is the true leverage of internet
and networking which allows us to work from other side of the world. This
wonderful concept should be taken up further by all the non-participating countries
and companies as well if you want to help yourself and help India. Localization
of work force negates the benefits of remote offshore centres and take away the
truly global flavour from the operations. These offshore centres give the
privilege to work for two countries and need to be encouraged going further.
While I work for myself to earn salary, the
effect is much larger than that and it produces huge vacuum in the country to
fill in with reforms. A lot of high impact reforms which challenged the status
quo have been introduced in the country in the past few years. Demonetization
unearthed a lot of black money and initiated cashless digital payments system
which is among the best in the world. The moral fabric of the country has been
cleansed with this act which has been rotting for ages. It was followed up by
another huge reform - GST which has consolidated lakhs of crores of revenue to
the central government. While these two are much talked about, high-risk steps
taken, there are 200 other major development works, laws, policy changes,
welfare schemes etc. which had been taken up at the speed of light for initiation,
implementation and completion. If it is not enough in first tenure, govt. in 2.0
is working at double the speed by treading the risky path through abrogating
article 370 which has stalled the entire state of J&K, passing the bill on
CAA, NRC which has fuelled protests and rejections from several sections against
its implementation.
Some of these measures have been pending
for long and no previous government could dare to put them into practice. GST,
Article 370, CAA, Ram Mandir in Ayodhya are few of the big bang changes which
are pending like files in government office since long. One has to take a step
back and appreciate the raw courage and going-to-any-extent attitude behind
these steps. But I would urge to put a full stop to taking up any further high-risk
measures and give normal governance sans any heroic actions. Enough is done and
I do not wish to see any further big bang reform in the next few years. Leaders
of India should not be like soldiers on the border leading a life-threatening lives.
Unfortunately, Indian systems are heavily top-down where everything has to be
driven from the top. Common public has to take initiative to radicalize, mobilize
and revolutionalize things on the ground to make progress and reverse the trend
to make it bottom-up. I have been doing the same from the past many years as my
tiny contribution towards safe-guarding and upholding the interests of the
nation.
Coming to the uproar against
CAA and NRC, I once again find nothing against the citizenship amendment act(CAA)
or any of its constituent bills. It is to safe-guard the minorities in the
neighbouring Muslim majority nations and inviting them to India, if not like
illegal immigrants. While it is legitimate to pass a bill when there is none,
the protests against it are unfounded and baseless. There is nothing wrong in
giving citizenship to suffering minorities from other countries. As far as the
in-house people are concerned, there is nothing wrong in disclosing few details
and documents to get citizenship. A majority of minorities stood against by
protesting the bill. They have some speculative fears about the act saying the
BJP has some hidden agenda against them. I don’t see any merit in the arguments
and no government will or should conspire against the minorities. India accepts
everyone with open arms which is there in the blood and DNA of every Hindu.
Protecting vulnerable Hindus, Hinduism never means going against other
religions. Those who fuel these divisions with their unfound fears and
provocative speeches are the main culprits. Any Indian Muslim should not fall
in this trap of anti-national elements.
Our nation is a land of heterogenous
mixture of people who stand for complimenting each other’s abilities. Muslims
and other minorities have an important role to play in nation building and
progress. Leave alone nation, they played an important role in my journey till
date. The house I am staying is purchased from a Muslim builder, the present
job I am working is through a reference from Muslim friend, some of the friends
I talk to on a regular basis are Muslims, the chairman of the A.P. MLC council
who stopped the 3 capital bill is a Muslim, some of the iconic figures of the
country belong to the Muslims. They bring so much to the table that I will be
the first to oppose anything going against them. Rest assured, the government
works steadfastly for the benefit of all minorities and you need not worry
about these so-called discriminatory laws.
The government in A.P. is
yet to drop the controversial 3 capital proposal and is working on putting it
in reality. How come the government change the capital after 5 years of effort.
Why did you accept in 2014 while in the opposition for a single capital and
came out with a new proposal after coming to power? Why didn’t you float your
ideas back then? Why didn’t you stage protests back then to form 3 capitals?
Why didn’t you form expert committees in 2014 as a responsible leader of
opposition and take a stand initially itself? Why did it take 5 years for a
government in power to revise the previous decision on an important matter? Why
are the GOs being issued at the midnight and rules broken so carelessly to
shift offices? Why did the PM laid foundation for something as big as a capital
and sidestep now saying it is not within their gamut? When they want GST from
the capital, Why the entire central government is mum without interfering and
correcting the wrong decision? Why should 40 farmers die out of mental agony
and heart attack? Why should 30000 farmers hit the roads and protest from 60
days without getting any assurances that the capital will not be shifted till
date? Why should farmers suffer in the crossfire of the clash between two cold
blooded political outfits? Why is the government going again for land pooling
around Vizag? Is it out of playfulness or to fool farmers in Vizag like they
did in Amaravati? Why are politics seeing caste-based bitter rivalry and being destructive
to the common man?
There are many puzzling answer-less
questions arising out of this episode and the government must drop the concept without
prolonging it any further. The state has been on a slippery slope after the
division with everything going nowhere. The blame for this cannot be entirely
put on the rival TDP and YSRCP. They just acted and reacted in the way they had
to. The two main culprits are the TRS and Congress. One which demanded the
separation and one which had given separate state unscientifically. Even the
special category status which has been promised in parliament was not given.
When TRS demanded separation and achieved it, it is the responsibility of TRS to
see that A.P. is also on right track. But they are more than content to just
look at their own state. Congress, which cannot even divide two states
properly, created a fine mess and nowhere to be seen now. All four political
outfits jointly held operation A.P. for their own selfish goals and 5 crore
people are suffering with no clarity on capital and nothing to look at in hope.
If the situation in A.P. is
pathetic enough, there is another country which is much more pathetic. China
has been gripped by deadly corona virus which has infected 60000 and already
claimed 1500 lives. The virus is first said to be originated in an illegal
wildlife market in Wuhan city and spread to 20 other countries. The outbreak
has been declared as a global emergency by the world health organization(WHO).
Tight restrictions to contain the disease remain in place in China. Flights are
cancelled, factories and schools closed, cities went into virtual lockdown to
reduce infections. It has been a difficult time for the people of China and the
prayers go to limit the infection, contain the virus before it is eradicated
completely.
