New Job and 'Serious' Pastime Musings

There has been a lapse of posting due to reasons beyond my control. The past few weeks, there has been a change of guard. I am into a job which has me occupied for most of my time, keeping me in a state of low-lying slumber. But the continuity of the actions is the wrath of hell upon me. No matter how much I give, I will be drawn into giving much more. I had been looking for a proper break since long which has eluded me ever since. You will work with much less worries, tensions, stress and more energy after a meaningful pause. Instead I am left to worry each single day and work round the year. I am yet to know when I will be freed from this bondage. I am off track or not living a normal life since last few years. Rather than it being my choice, I am forced to lead such a life by circumstances and people around. Because of this crime perpetrated against me by an unknown enemy, I can easily lose hope at humanity and turn into a terrorist seeking revenge against everyone and anyone.  If not for a few good souls who still believe in me, it might have turned much worse.

I has been visiting places since last few years. The most common places are usually big cities. I don’t know what it is with these cities that pulls me but I am able to survive because of these cities. A person like me cannot come this far in an outside world. Incongruously, I am yet to be accepted into my home city. Though I don’t belong to any city, I live upon cities. In the recent past I visited another huge city – Bengaluru. My visits to these big cities had many small town people turn green and look in awe. India is particularly very backward in this aspect. Even in this day and age, nearly 80% of population lives in towns and villages. The gap between the cities and villages in terms of psychological and physical differences is huge in the country. The top 50 cities combined harbor not more than 15 % of the total population. There is a need to create a number of smart cities and decentralize the life style across the land. For everything that may go against creation of cities, India still heavily depends on its top 5 big cities for income and spreading the wealth across the land in terms of taxes. The ruling government also came up with an idea of creating a number of smart cities. Time is also right to implement this and make it a reality. Not that I had something against the villages, but there are few advantages in leading a more sophisticated, cultured and polished life.

The pattern of the last few posts is that I am blowing my own trumpet. Reality is I go for some self-proclamations to cover up some of my shortcomings elsewhere. For example, I made a mess of my last foreign trip which is never useful to me personally. To hide the reality, I go for much grander and optimistic angles of the situation. But the reality has unfolded in a way which makes these boasts look lesser than what they actually should be. In the present context, these are very pertinent and relevant to what I am actually going through and need to be mentioned to bring a complete picture of what’s going on. The situation has escalated to such a degree that no superlative adjective can completely define it.

From the time I stayed in U.S., my thoughts has place to another nation – China. Chinese do not resemble anything different than normal in that country. They come across as perfect siblings to Americans with regards to manners and outlook. The fact that I am a foreign element need to be recollected. The country has its importance and need to be mentioned since it draws parallel to India in terms of area and population. Another parallel is all the rich Chinese send their kids to U.S. for higher education to escape torture at home. Like India, China also saw population explosion post 1950.  A perpendicular is despite being so big, the way it manages itself with dignity on a world stage. Not long ago Chinese reached number one spot in Olympics. This is a major achievement to the nation which takes its relative position seriously. India can learn a lot at how a citizen is committed to the nation at large. The government can also learn a lot with regard to the growth, infrastructure and general administration of population. It’s interesting to note how it orchestrated a change from ‘developing’ to ‘developed’ in a short span of few decades. The rise is symbolized by a mobile manufacturing company - Mi which after winning in home, spread its tentacles to foreign land and sold more than 50 lakh units of a single brand – Redmi note 4. The Chinese smart phone makers also occupy 4 out of top 5 best-selling brands in the foreign country. Its rise to such a stature is a requirement and important to the overall progress of the humanity.
